A House?
I am sipping my coffee and thinking what I have to do today. I am NOT packing today. Tomorrow I'll slip back into cleaning out another closet. Today I may go to the thrift store to look for bar stools and maybe a book shelf. Bar stools and a book shelf? (you may ask) Well, we have made an offer on another house in Jackson. Can you say 2 1/2 weeks? Yes, because that's when we're moving there. I'll let you know what works out. I actually really like the house. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath (2 car garage) house in a neighborhood with sidewalks. It's in great condition, but is very outdated on the inside. You know what that means: HARD WOOD PANELLING. Lots of it. So, my ideal dream is to close on the house next week (sometime) and then replace all the carpet and linoleum (which looks original in the 1979 house), paint the walls, kitchen cabinets, and panelling before we move into the house on May 19th. Doable? We'll see. I will post pictures of the inside if we get the house. I'm trying to not be panicked about the whole thing (whoever heard of closing on a house a week after making an offer?), but I know we're going to move SOMEWHERE two weeks from next Monday. Our other option is married housing, which appeals to me, but is small and we wouldn't be able to resell after seminary. What does my life look like a month from now?

Oh, I love the suspense! Don't you???! Reminds me of our move to Birmingham. Keith went over sometime RIGHT before we were to move and found us the old white house on VAlley Rd. (loved it).
By the way, the word verification for me is "bswife" what is that all about???
We decided to start looking for a house about a month before Atticus was born. We were the first people to look at this house, put an offer on it, and closed two weeks before Atticus was born. We had the whole insides of the house painted and carpet pulled up, moved in a week before Atticus was born. Whew!
It can happen, trust me! ;)
Kim, I have vacation days, tools, and just a little experience in getting a house remodeled in a short short time. We can spray the walls (i have a paint rig) and lay carpet in two days. The spray rig will make painting a lot quicker.
Holy Cow, Brandon! How generous! Thanks for the offer... Tell the hubby.
Once upon 9 years ago, there was this family living in MS who wanted to move to Bham but couldn't find a place. Right when they decided it wasn't possible, someone told their family members (who were living in Bham) about a house in Mtn. Brook...a free house. So they moved there...with no job...for a couple of months...and no money...and they've been in Bham since. And they've lived happily ever after...well mostly.
I'm thinking it can probably happen. Just a hunch.
House looks nice on the outside.
It looks like you might be needing some June Cleaver dresses to live in that neighborhood!
I like the look on the outside and it seems like you have a good size yard. Brian and I have made a vow the next house we buy will not be brand new. They just don't make them the same anymore. And with houses going up in a matter of days there are a ton of cut corners.
I'm dying to know exactly where it is (but don't post that, of course). My aunt lives there too so, I am just curious how far or near.
