Good Reading

I have a troop of boys whooping it up in my house. Instead of being perturbed by an exorbitant amount of children in the house, I rather like it. They choose to play with each other, being boys (or Indians or animals or what have you), and I read blissfully alone. The baby (of course) is asleep in his bed. When he wakes up, I will be the coolest mom ever and take all the boys to Sonic to get a Happy Hour slushy. This is the greatest promotion that Sonic has ever done. We go every week, just about. Today, I will be scrounging up change. I love me a lemon-berry slush. Mmmmm... Cool mom... Cooool...

I have finished Pride and Prejudice and I love it. It makes me want to watch the movie again. And I will, as soon as I'm finished with this post. I must say, my obsession with Pride and Prejudice is beating the pants off my former obsession with Phantom of the Opera. Understand, I still love Phantom, but I never (tried) to read the actual book and have limited knowledge of the subject. With P&P, I have now read the book and seen two different versions of the book in movie form. I have a hankering to read other novels by Jane Austen (Persuasion), and to know more about the author, though I have found out a little information on her on the Internet. Jane Austin never married. Crazy. I cannot dive into Persuasion yet, though, because I have Charlotte Bronte's, Jane Eyre waiting in the wings. I have a long time admiration of Charlotte Bronte (I met her, you know), but have never tried to read Jane Eyre. That will be remedied this week. I have asked to borrow Crissy's copy of the latest BBC version of the novel (EXCELLENT), which she said she would send me. Eagerly awaiting it. (send it today, send it today, send it today)

Well, I have lots (and lots-have you seen the size of Jane Eyre?) of reading to do. I encourage you to drop the vacuum cleaner, the dishes, or the baby (what???) and get to reading your favorite book. Or a classic...

I enjoyed the movies and books as well. This weekend I watched Becoming Jane. About Jane Austin. Great movie as well. You are right, I do need to read more.

You have a beautiful family.

You really do need to read Phantom of the Opera It's a short read and without giving away too much I'll say that it gives you more insight into the phantom and has an "alternate" ending.

Jane Austen is one of my favs! Love everyone of her novels! Jane Eyre is wonderful too. If you like classic novels, Alexandre Dumas is a fav of mine as well. His best: The Count of Monte Cristo.

Logan just read Count of Monte Cristo and told me all about it. (side track from above comment)
I need to read more too, like my son does.
However I get obsessed like I did last week with Year of wonders and read it in a 24 hour time period.
I am not even nice enough to drop it and go to Sonic for Slushies!
