Upside Down

I have forgotten to mention in the past couple of posts but, I got the job! I found out on Monday around noon, but have forgotten to mention it (um, wretched cold). I am excited, in a confused-but-I-wasn't-looking-for-a-job kind of way. It seems strange that the job practically popped in my lap. I never made a resume, never spent two weeks filling out applications, never coached myself in the mirror that I WAS worth the hire (doesn't everybody do that?).

Perhaps God is providing a way for my family that we weren't expecting. Maybe God was well aware that UPS was going to push my husband to absolute exhaustion physically. We didn't move to Mississippi for my husband to work at UPS. We moved there for him to finish seminary, and to finish quickly (well, three years is quick for a Master of Divinity). Otherwise, I was perfectly happy in Moody, AL.

I'm still a little stunned. I've always stayed at home (and found ways to make money from home) and for the last two years, we've homeschooled. Now, my life is drastically changed. I'm not disappointed. I'm not overwhelmed (well, not yet anyway). I'm not sobbing at every turn (again-NOT YET). Maybe my life isn't drastically changing. I think it's changed little by little over the course of this past year and I've been accepting it in small bites. Perhaps, God has been transforming me into something I couldn't have been a year ago, so that Quinn can do what he's been called to do.

Quinn is turning his notice into UPS tomorrow. He has a job lined up with the seminary that -incidentally- will not be in the middle of the night.

Jehovah-Jirah (The Lord Provides) cares for me.

Rock on! That's so awesome! I think seminary is definitely a place where God shows how He provides for us... at least, that was the way it was for us too. Congrats on the job & I'm glad Quinn isn't having to kill himself at UPS.

(It must've been the kicky belt.)

Congratulations friend!!! I'm very proud of you! So cool to see God working in your lives when he's removed you from your most comfortable elements. And your page is gorgeous!

that makes me smile. He provides when we don't even know it and often in ways we don't see.

i'm still a little bit angry at not finding the pants. i'm sorry to have let you down so.

Yeah!! Congratulations! It sounds like God worked everything out for His good. I had to go back to teaching after Jeff entered law school, and we have been blessed ever since. I know it will be different than being a full-time mommy but you can't beat having the same hours your children have.

Glad you got the job but not the pants. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed seeing you and my silas on tuesday. A smile and hug from him was really what the doc should've ordered. Love you guys. Mona

that is awesome. Isnt it amazing to look over how life changes in a year. If someone would have told you then how it is now.. would we believe we could actually do it? Not me. I am so excited for you guys. Plus, hey, im sure it will be nice having your man sleep in bed with you at the same time you are going to sleep! ;-P
