This is Bucky. He's a deer, otherwise pronounced "der" in the great state of Mississippi. Isn't he cute? Some friends of ours have this sweet little thing in their house (that's right- in. their. HOUSE.) and let us have come and have a little looksee. Scott's friend rescued the deer (it still had it's umbilical cord and seemed to have been abandoned by its mother- unless she was killed) and so he called Scott (because he's apparently a sucker for a baby deer) and Scott took it home so that it, too, wouldn't die. He said when he saw it, the poor thing was listless and weak. He and Woodman took him under their care and he's getting bigger. They'll have to find somewhere for him to go soon, but now he's darling and cute and we got to see him.
He (Bucky) was very nervous with the boys and me, but he was coaxed into licking my hand and then Corin's. He really took to Corin and tried butting heads with him and chewed his hair. It was very sweet. Silas got to see him, too. Felix couldn't get close to him without squealing and startling him, but he did touch him two times. We then watched Woodman feed him a bottle.
It was very cool. It was really neat to see such a tiny little thing thriving. Thanks Scott and Woodman! And thanks Bucky!
